SEMIOSCURA EP [WFI007]
out 28 March 2025

Semioscura is a sonic entity moving along a border where infinite lights and shadows converge. It emerges and retreats between surface and sublayer, feeding on the nuances between the perceptible and the immaterial. Born from the need to give voice to the tension of waiting dissolving into action, Semioscura explores what vanishes before being grasped, what has not been or never will be, yet is still clearly perceived.
Neither concealing nor revealing, Semioscura unfolds through a perpetual motion of fragmented samples, ambient recordings, self-generating textures, and noises. These elements create soundscapes where time crumbles and recomposes in distant echoes, suspending the listener between revelation and obscurity.
Each track emerges like a fragmented memory impossible to fully grasp, yet resonating with an intimate sense of recognition. Sound and silence engage in a dialogue, shaping images and words necessary for personal interpretation. Even the track titles offer no clear direction; they are but fleeting snapshots, singular points in an ever-flowing stream of sound. An opaque transparency through which to perceive, a fervent stillness, the marginal notes of a vision. Time dissolves, contours blur, presence manifests even in absence.
At its core, Semioscura is a study of permanence and transience, nostalgia and the longing for what has not yet been or never will be. It is an unconscious act of listening to a voice blurred by time.
With no faces, no names, only sound, Semioscura is an exploration of being, becoming, and vanishing. It is not penumbra, but something else entirely.
